This is a kiwi which is the national animal and bird of NZ. Due to the fact NZ has no native land mammuals the introduction of pests like stoats and rats has caused their population to decrease. They are nocturnal so we don't see them much and they are all small and brown. They have a really long beak that allows them to find insencts in the soil.
